(Eagle Mountain Casino, Porterville, Ca 93257) – The Honor Flight of Kern County received an unexpected $100,000 cash donation towards their flight costs from Eagle Mountain Casino on Thursday December 5th.
Eagle Mountain Casinos General Manager Matthew Mingrone and Marketing Director Renee Garcia traveled to Bakersfield, to surprise 200+ Veterans during their monthly honor flight breakfast at the Elks Lodge location at 1616 30th Street. The breakfast has been such a hit that they’ve outgrown their old location and moved the breakfast to a larger venue where they’re able to accommodate more Veterans.
Eagle Mountain Casino hosted a Veterans Fundraiser that began on October 1st and ended on December 3rd. Guests generously donated money towards the fundraiser in return for some free play and the fundraiser was so successful that extra funds were available to give to Honor Flight Kern County. There are four other Veteran Organizations who will also be receiving a portion of the funds raised.
“Well thank you, doesn’t even cover what this does for us. We’ve never even come close to receiving a donation like this. The thanks to give to Eagle Mountain and their patrons and anyone that’s been involved in putting together something of this magnitude, there are just no word but thank you but that doesn’t do it justice. This check will probably put 70 Veterans on a plane to Washington D.C. and it’s an unbelievable gift that’ll touch the hearts of so many people and change so many lives. As every flight does, they all come back different people. Lili Marsh – Founder, Board Chair Honor Flight Kern County
